Event Details

North Carolina Museum of Natural Science at Contentnea Creek will host a night of stargazing and activities during the 2021 North Carolina Science Festival’s Statewide Star on April 16th, 2021 from 8:00pm-10:00pm. This year’s star party will be all about the Moon and Mars. Games and activities will explore the nature of these worlds and our plans to visit them. And of course, our telescopes will be focused in on these and other incredible wonders of the night sky.

In recognition of continuing uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Star Party will be planned as a pandemic-proof event, following a hybrid model that can pivot to all-virtual offerings as needed. Stay tuned for more details!

All in-person programs will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks, including smaller class sizes, moving into larger rooms (if indoors), keeping participants a safe distance from each other and increasing sanitation efforts.

Please note that in-person programs are subject to change or cancellation depending on COVID-19 restrictions. A full refund would be provided in event of a cancellation.
