The GEO Explorers camp is open to rising 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Students will explore the water systems of Eastern North Carolina from local watersheds to the ocean. Through field experience and hands-on activities, students will learn how climate change is affecting our local and global environments.

Teacher Recommendation

Teachers can recommend 8th-12th grade students to attend the 2022 GEO Explorers camp at NCMNS Greenville.

This is a free program and acceptance is competitive. Participating students will complete a one-week full day science camp (Monday through Friday, August 1-5, 2022). The program will be based at NCMNS-Greenville (729 Dickenson Avenue) and will include daily field trips to field sites. Students will participate daily from 9am-4pm in a hands-on, experiential study of eastern NC watersheds with a focus on building community resilience to climate impacts.
