Cake and Kayak Parties

Saturdays from 10am-12pm or 12pm-2pm.

Book our beautiful Kitty & Max Joyner Outdoor Classroom location for cake a gifts after celebrating with kayaking in our shallow pond! 

Lessons are appropriate for anyone over 4 years of age. 

Cost is $10/child or $100 minimum.

Public Kayaking

Saturdays from 10am – 2pm 

During the warmer months kayaking is available. each Saturday in our shallow pond.

Kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device (pfd) are provided.

$10/person.

Cash or Card is accepted on site.

This adventure offers views along the way that are second to none! Sightings of bald eagle, blue heron, and turtles are common along this route.

Appropriate for intermediate level kayakers:  

Enjoy a 7 mile downstream paddle from A Time for Science to Grifton.  $35/person for groups of 5 or more.

Appropriate for beginners:

Explore the Little Contentnea on a gentle 1.5 mile journey to the mouth of the creek and back. $25/person.

Kayaks, life jackets, and shuttle service provided.

Full Moon Paddle

Seasonal 

Embrace the beauty of the full moon with a night time paddle. Enjoy these paddles in one of our charming ponds and build a fire for roasting marshmallows. This is great fun for the whole family. This event is great fun for the whole family and appropriate for kayakers of all levels. Kayak, life jacket, and marshmallows provided. $10/person.
