

Summer Camp: Entomology through Fly Tying

Entomology through Fly Tying introduces students to the amazing world of bugs through the art of fly tying! Campers will receive a fly tying kit and insect collection kit to keep. Campers will use these kits to perform a number of activates such as tying wet and dry flies (classics and originals) using a variety of materials, insect identification and collection that results in a mounted insect collection, and insect life cycle activities that teach about insect morphologies.
- Entomology through Fly Tying Summer Camp is offered the week of June 28-July 2.
- The cost is $350/camper.
- Camp Location: 729 Dickenson Avenue, Greenville, NC 27834
- Camps run daily from 9am - 3pm.
- Camps are designed for rising 9th-12th graders.
Each Day students will need:
A mask
A packed lunch
All in-person programs will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks, including smaller class sizes, moving into larger rooms (if indoors), keeping participants a safe distance from each other and increasing sanitation efforts.
Please note that in-person programs are subject to change or cancellation depending on COVID-19 restrictions. A full refund would be provided in event of a cancellation.
