Teen Science Cafes at North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is a series of free, fun, out-of-school events where teens get to socialize and have the opportunity to talk with local scientists and engineers about current cutting-edge ideas in science and technology, all in a relaxed and informal setting. Every other Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm we will be joined by an expert for a conversation to learn about a wide range of topics from the chemistry involved in pizza making to the adventurous opportunities associated with water quality assessment. Students will earn a lapel pin for each area of science they encounter as they attend each Teen Science Café.

To create a safer environment, space is limited and all programs take place outdoors at NCMNS at Greenville. Programs are free and open to middle and high school students only. All participants must pre-register. Cafes run from March 23rd to June 25th.

All in-person programs will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks, including smaller class sizes, moving into larger rooms (if indoors), keeping participants a safe distance from each other and increasing sanitation efforts.

Please note that in-person programs are subject to change or cancellation depending on COVID-19 restrictions. A full refund would be provided in event of a cancellation.
