The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Greenville and Contentnea Creek welcomes all campers and strives to provide an incredible learning experience to every child registered for our camps. Bring your curiosity and sense of wonder as you join museum educators for fun activities, games, and crafts! We offer full-day, week-long camps ranging in topics from Astronomy to Zoology — so there’s something for everyone!

Full-Day Science Camps

A week of hands-on learning and fun

Give your child an unforgettable week filled with exploration, discovery, and creativity. Our full-day camps offer exciting science adventures that engage young minds and spark curiosity.

March 16-20

Our week-long spring break day camps offers fun science lessons on a variety of topics ranging from Astronomy to Zoology.

Students will dive into hands-on lessons, kayaking, and exciting outdoor adventures. Camps are open to students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

Outdoor Adventure

June 15-19

Grade: K-8

Sharpen your survival skills and get a taste of all the 400 acres that ATFS has to offer at Contentnea Creek. In addition to kayaking and hiking, outdoor adventurers will learn the basics of knot tying, fire safety, orienteering, and more.

Fintastic Fishing Intro

June 22-26

Grade: K-8

Never been fishing before? No problem! Campers will learn how to safely set up and operate fishing gear and how to identify common fish species in our area. This camp is for beginner anglers only.

Fintastic Fishing Pro

June 29 – July 3

Grade: K-8

Already a pro fisherperson? Perfect! Deepen your knowledge of NC aquatic ecosystems while putting your pro angler skills to the test! This camp is for anglers who’ve been through Fintastic Fishing previously.

Tuscaroran Trekkers

July 13-17

Grade: K-8

Learn the legends and traditions of the Tuscaroran Tribe that lived on this very land! Explore how indigenous peoples worked with the land and make connections to modern day technologies that continue to shape our world.

Wild for Wildlife

July 20-24

Grade: K-8

Get wild with us! Were on the hunt to observe wild animals in their very own natural habitats! Learn about our amazing local wildlife through hands-on activities, trail hikes, and animal meet-and-greets!

Fun with Physics

July 27-31

Grade: K-8

EUREKA! A camp designed for your young physicist to explore the laws of the universe! Through a series of design challenges, campers use their knowledge of forces and tools to identify and measure properties of motion.

 

Space is the Place

August 3-7

Grade: K-8

Blast off an astronomically good time! Experience planetarium shows, observatory viewing, and many hands-on space themed activities that spark curiosity, imagination, teamwork, and scientific discovery!

Mechanical Mayhem

August 10-14

Grade: K-8

Cure the chaos! Put your engineering minds to work as you solve scenarios each day to fix the problems that arise! Campers build basic machines and work together to save the day in this fun-filled camp.
