The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Greenville and Contentnea Creek welcomes all campers and strives to provide an incredible learning experience to every child registered for our camps. Bring your curiosity and sense of wonder as you join museum educators for fun activities, games, and crafts! We offer half-day and full-day, week-long camps ranging in topics from Astronomy to Zoology — so there’s something for everyone!

Spring Break Science Camp

Spring Break Camp

March 17-21

Our week-long spring break day camps offers fun science lessons on a variety of topics ranging from Astronomy to Zoology.

Students will participate in hands-on lessons at our Outdoor Classroom, along the trails, on the pond and in the Planetarium. Students learn to kayak in a shallow pond. Camps are geared for Kindergarten-5th graders.

Enjoy daily planetarium shows, create out of this world crafts, and explore the universe with our resident astrophysicist Bri the Sky Guy. Improve your knowledge on constellations and take a tour of the solar system!

Fin-tastic Fishing: June

June 23-27

Grade: K-8

Reel in the fun with Fin-tastic Fishing Camp! This camp is perfect for any young angler wanting to try their hand at fishing. Explore aquatic ecosystems, identify freshwater organisms, and learn all about NC fish.

Outdoor Adventure

July 7-11

Grade: K-8

Campers will deepen their kayaking skills and explore Contentnea Creek. This camp highlights the science behind popular outdoor recreation while leaving plenty of time for campers to adventure!

Get ready for a wild adventure! From fluttering butterflies to mighty bears, we’ll dive into the incredible world of Eastern NC wildlife. It’s a week packed with hands-on fun and wild discoveries!

Half Day Camps

FIRST Lego League Explore Camp

July 7-11 (Half Day)

Grade: 1st-3rd

Campers are introduced to engineering and S.T.E.M. concepts using FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) themes. Students get a chance to explore a variety of S.T.E.M. activities as a great introduction to robotics.

FIRST Lego League Challenge Camp

July 14-18 (Half Day)

Grade: 4th-6th

Students build and program a Spike Prime robot to move and practice completing tasks that could be seen in FIRST Lego League competitions. Campers build on engineering and programming skills and receive mentorship from Pitt Pirate Robotics team.
