When does registration begin?

2026 spring break camp registration will become available for Museum Members on January 17th, 2026! Registration opens for non-members on January 31st, 2026.

2026 summer camp registration will become available for Museum Members on February 1st, 2026! Registration opens for non-members on February 15th, 2026.

How much do the camps cost?

For family membership holders – $160 per camp

For non-members – $200 per camp

How do I find my discount code?

After you register and pay for your family membership, log in at https://atimeforscience.org/login/. Then click in to the member portal by clicking “Welcome, your name” on the top of the webpage. There you will find the discount codes available for your membership level. Copy the discount codes to apply during checkout. 

What grade level camp should I sign my child up for?

Grade levels stated in camp descriptions are for the upcoming school year (2026-2027). Please double-check to make sure that children are signed up for the appropriate grade level.

  • For K-8th camps, campers will be split up by grade level: K-3rd & 4th-8th grades.
  • Following Pitt County kindergarten eligibility requirements, campers must be five years old on or by August 31, 2025, to be eligible for kindergarten camps.

How do I register?

What information will I need to register?

  • Explore our exciting variety of camps!

  • The email address in which you would like to receive camp information.
  • Street address, phone number and email address for guardian(s).
  • Insurance/medical information
  • Doctor information
  • Names of medication needed during camp.
  • Emergency contact information
  • MasterCard or VISA to complete the registration process

When will my payment be due and what forms of payment do we accept?

Payment in full is due to complete the registration process. Online registration will accept MasterCard and VISA. Please do not drop off checks or cash at the Museum.

Cancellation 

Registration can be canceled for a 50% refund up to 10 days before the start of the camp. No refund will be given within 10 days of the camp starting.

  • In the event of illness or an unexpected change of plans, camp registration may be rescheduled.
  • Refunds may be issued with transaction fees deducted.

When will I receive confirmation?

Your confirmation and receipt will be emailed to you upon completion of the online registration. You will also receive regular communications leading up to the camp.

When is drop-off and pick-up?

    • Drop-off 7:15am – 8:00am
    • Pick-up 5:00pm – 5:45pm

Accessibility and inclusion:

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences aims to provide a friendly, accessible environment for all campers by providing the widest possible access to our building, exhibitions, events and programs. If your child can benefit from any modification and/or support in order to fully enjoy their time at camp, please contact sam.eubanks@naturalsciences.org

Camper conduct:

If a camper’s conduct poses physical harm or risk to self or others we may ask to meet with guardians or other caretakers to develop and implement strategies to help with success. After a reasonable amount of time and effort has been made, in the absence of improvement, the individual may be asked to forego the summer camp experience until alternative behaviors are learned.

Camp ratio:

Each camp is lead by a minimum of 2 instructors. 1 instructor per 10 students.

Early departures:

Early departures must be scheduled prior to the pickup date. You can schedule an early pick-up up to 1 hour before camp ends. Guardians or authorized persons will meet at a prearranged meeting place, such as the classroom or another location on the grounds. Please have your photo ID available to show staff.

Late fees:

NCMNS employs the very best staff possible in our programs. After camp hours, staff have other personal and professional obligations. In order to accommodate any overtime that occur for late pick-up, a late fee of $30.00 per day will be implemented if you are more than 10 minutes late picking up your child. The late fee must be paid in full before the beginning of the next day of camp for your child to attend.

Packing List:

  • Refillable water bottle
  • Lunch box
  • Close-toed shoes
  • Water shoes or sandals (optional for kayaking)
  • SPF (spray application is preferred with stick applicator for face)
  • Insect repellent
  • Hat, sunglasses, sun shirt (optional)
  • Rain coat or poncho
  • Change of clothes
  • Towel for Friday water play

Lunch:

Campers will need to bring a bag lunch with them daily. Please package the lunch items together with the child’s name. Campers will not have access to a refrigerator or a microwave.

Snacks:

One snack will be provided by camp staff each day around 3:00pm.
