Monarch Meadows Sponsorship
$100.00 – $250.00
Each sponsored plot will display the name of sponsoring individual, family, or business with a personalized garden stake for one year.
NCMNS at Contentnea Creek has joined the international effort to create waystations for migrating Monarch butterflies. The Monarch Meadows is a 1-acre pollinator garden designed especially for the survival of the Monarch Butterflies. This garden will consist of 100 or more 8-ft by 8-ft plots to grow milkweed, which is the only plant monarch caterpillars eat. Each plot will also support a variety of flowering, nectar plants that all pollinators need to survive.
You can help by becoming a “Monarch Ally,” contributing to the support of one of these plots. Completion will result in a beautiful walking park for visitors as well as a “Living Laboratory,” providing opportunities for thousands of visitors each year to participate in educational activities, citizen science, and conservation. Most of all, it will be a means of survival for Monarchs and other pollinators!
