NCSciFest Statewide Star Party

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Contentnea Creek invites you to a free night of stargazing and engaging activities during the NCSciFest Statewide Star Party on April 4, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This year’s theme, Your Place in Space, invites visitors to reflect on how we are all connected to the cosmos.

The event will feature telescope viewings through the 16-inch telescope at the Kitty and Max Joyner Observatory, along with additional telescopes provided by the Carolina Skies Astronomy Club. Guests will have the opportunity to observe celestial wonders such as the moon, the Orion Nebula, and Jupiter—connecting you to the vast universe around us.

In addition to stargazing, there will be themed games, hands-on activities, and planetarium shows that will encourage you to explore and discover your place in space. Activities will help you understand the scale of the universe, our place in it, and how the objects you observe tie into the greater cosmic picture.
